Lucas-11 Months Old

Lucas turned 11 months on September 10th! One month until we have a one year old! It just doesn't even seem possible. Where has the time gone? I know everyone says it goes by so fast but you really don't realize quite how fast it goes in the first year of parenthood.

Lucas @ 11 Months:
-Stands up but has not started walking
-Crawls extremely fast - he is hard to catch!
-Is in to everything - you can't turn your back for one second or he is in the dog food bowl splashing the water around and trying to eat Cody's dog food
-Bumps his head a lot on things when he crawls around
-Still detests getting dressed and having his diaper changed (it is quite the work out for mommy and daddy trying to get this boy dressed in the morning)
-Loves mac and cheese, cheese cubes, yogurt, peas, etc...
-Waves buy buy, loves clapping whenever music comes on, loves to dance (holding himself up on something)

SO excited to see what the next few weeks bring... Everyday is something new and we just love this stage!

Life Lately

Where to begin? I went back to work in mid-July and it was a fairly smooth transition. Lucas loves his daycare and is learning a lot. I definitely miss being with him during the day but it is so nice to talk to adults. Our schedule leaves us exhausted at the end of everyday and I keep using this as the excuse for why I haven't started exercising.

Our Weekday Schedule:
5:45-6:00-Josh wakes up
6:30-Lucas wakes up (I dress him, give him kisses and put him in Daddy's car)
6:45-Get myself ready
8:00-Arrive at work
5:00-Leave work
5:30-Arrive at daycare (yes, it takes 30 minutes to go 8 miles)
6:00-Arrive home (another 25 minutes or so to go another 6-7 miles)
6:00-Lucas gets dinner
6:30-7:30-Chase Lucas around/make dinner for us/get bottles and food ready for lucas for the next day
7:30-Bottle for Lucas
8:00-Bedtime for Lucas
8:00-Relaxation time
9:30-10:00-Bed for Josh and me

As for weekends, Lucas gets up at his normal 6:30 wake up time. I am typically sitting outside stores waiting for them to open on Saturdays when I know many of my friends are sleeping in. Oh well, I wouldn't trade this life for anything.... :-)

I am so, so glad today is Friday!

Lucas-10 Months Old

This is how our 10 month photo session went. Let's get say that I hope to be able to get the next 2 months on camera. This boy will no longer sit still to take a photo and has quite a temper when you try to force him to sit.

This was the temper tantrum that started when we tried to get him to sit:

We tried for a second time to get him to sit in the chair to take a photo (with daddy next to him). No dice.


Lucas @ 10 Months:
-has developed a temper
-started crawling right after he turned 9 months
-hates getting his diaper changed (he used to love it)
-hates getting dressed
-has started to really develop an interest in Cody
-loves daycare
-is starting to eat more and more regular foods
-loves cheese
-still hasn't sit 20lbs
-loves music and when people sing to him
-has 5 teeth and is getting ready to cut his 6th

Lucas-9 Months Old

As you can tell by the next few photos, these monthly photos are becoming more difficult. Lucas doesn't like to sit still.











Lucas @ 9 Months:
-17.5 pounds (he is such a little man)
-Has 4 teeth and has swollen gums so we think he will be getting his 5th and 6th soon
-Feeding himself more and more things and finally like feeding himself peas
-Scooting himself and rolls all over the place to get places but still isn't crawling
-Starting to develop some stranger anxiety
-Starts daycare tomorrow and mommy starts work
-Pulling himself up on things constantly
-Reaches for us a lot
-Start to develop such a personality!

Lucas - 8 Months Old

I am 2 weeks behind on this post. Man, I am a slacker!







Lucas @ 8 Months:
-Takes his last bottle around 8pm and sleeps from 8:30pm to about around 7 am.
-Is picking up puffs and feeding himself
-Loves eating yogurt!
-Has gained 2 more teeth in the past 3 weeks for a total of 4 teeth. He has had lots of low-grade fevers from these two teeth. YUCK!
-Is starting to feed himself his bottle
-Still shows no interest in crawling but likes to stand while holding on to something
-Took his first plane ride (more on that in a separate post)

Memorial Day Weekend 2012

We had an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday we went over to my mom's for their annual memorial day BBQ for Rolling Thunder. They ride in the Rolling Thunder motorcycle ride every year. They always have the bbq on Saturday and ride in the parade on Sunday. Besse, Nate, Billy and Besse's parents were able to come this year and we were so glad to have them!

On Sunday, we headed over to The Dailer's community pool. It was Lucas' 1st time in a real pool. He did really well and we all had a great time!

Mothers Day 2012

I am a month behind on this post. Josh, Lucas and Cody gave me an amazing first mother's day. Well Cody says that it wasn't my first mother's day.

Lucas gave me my card the Thursday before Mother's Day



Once I opened the card, I found out I was going to the spa the next day! So exciting! Josh made this adorable little card with the spa package he picked and put Lucas' photo on it.



I love going to the Sugar House in Old Town, Alexandria. I got a few prenatal massages there when I was pregnant and really enjoyed them. This time I got a deep tissue massage, an amazing European facial and a manicure and pedicure. It was so relaxing!

On Sunday, we went to church and then the boys took me out to one of my favorite restaurants, Sweetwater Tavern. The photo we took at Sweetwater is not very good so I am not going to post it but here is Lucas enjoying himself in his high chair.



And last but not least, here are the beautiful flowers Josh got me.



My boys spoiled me rotten. Love them! I had a wonderful 1st Mother's Day!
